Yamaha VR46 Master Camp Edition 12 is Given the Green Light

The 12th edition of the Yamaha VR46 Master Camp, held from 20-25 May 2023 in the Emilia Romagna region, will continue to take place.

The tragic news about the flooding that hit the Emilia Romagna and Marche area in the last few days has caused great concern to all, due to the severe damage and local disruptions. However, the main base camp of the Master Camp, Tavullia, was not affected by the floods. VR46 and Yamaha carefully assessed the circumstances and conditions of each training location (Misano, Pomposa, Pesaro, and Cattolica) and decided that the 12th edition of the Yamaha VR46 Master Camp can take place as usual, without incurring the risk of putting our young riders and staff in danger or putting local authorities under additional pressure given the circumstances.

The news was a great relief to the six new Yamaha talents who arrived in Cattolica, Italy, yesterday, ready to take the next step in their racing careers. The selected Yamaha Motor Europe's 2023 Yamaha R3 bLU cRU European Championship riders for the upcoming Master Camp are Eduardo Burr (aged 16) from Brazil, Dawid Nowak (aged 14) from Poland, Marc Vich (aged 16) from Spain, Krittapat Keankum (aged 18, also known as Idea) and Thurakij Buapa (aged 19, also known as Earth) from Thailand, and Shoma Yamane (aged 15) from Japan. They all passed a physical check this morning, officially allowing them to take part in this illustrious training programme.

With the help of racing and fitness experts, VR46 Academy riders, Correos Prepago Yamaha VR46 Master Camp rider Manuel Gonzalez, and 2021 MotoGP eSport Champion Lorenzo Daretti, they will complete a full-on schedule including MiniGP, road racing, MotoGP eSport, and flat track riding as well as soft cross at the VR46 Motor Ranch, all made possible by Oakley, Alpinestars, and VR46.

Eduardo Burr

"The Yamaha VR46 Master Camp is a good opportunity to train, and coming here is a dream come true. I'm already familiar with this programme's different training sessions, and flat track is definitely something I'm looking forward to. I think that it will be a really good opportunity to learn."

Dawid Nowak

"I was really happy and excited when I was selected to take part in the Yamaha VR46 Master Camp. The introduction day was great: they gave us so many things, we had a photo session, a briefing, and everything was very professional. I'm aiming to book the best progress I can during this week. I'm looking forward to listen to the advice of some of the best riders in the world."

Marc Vich

"I've known about the Yamaha VR46 Master Camp since last year when I started riding in the R3 championship. I'm very happy to be part of the programme now. It's difficult to put into words, but I'm thankful to everyone who helped set up this training week. I'll enjoy it a lot! I'm looking forward to every session, because in Spain I don't usually train like this, so that's why I'm very happy to be able to do so now."

Krittapat Keankum

"I already knew about the Master Camp programme before I arrived here, but it doesn't compare to when you experience it yourself. I'm happy to join the Master Camp, and I'm looking forward to start training."

Thurakij Buapa

"The Yamaha VR46 Master Camp is quite famous, especially among R3 riders, so I'm very excited to have the opportunity to join this edition. I'm especially curious about the flat track training!"

Shoma Yamane

I know the Japanese rider Maiki Abe who attended one of the Yamaha VR46 Master Camp training weeks last year. Thanks to that, I already have a good impression of what this experience will be like. It's wonderful to be here. I'm looking forward to every single session, on and off the bike.
