Ninth Yamaha VR46 Master Camp Riders Enjoy Yamaha Marine Beach Day

Following three very intense training days at the Yamaha VR46 Master Camp, the students were treated to a fun and relaxing day to recover and regain energy. They started Day 4 with Pilates and followed it up with a nice ride on 2021 Yamaha EX Limited WaveRunners at the Joe Amarena Pesaro beach.

After the hard work they had done on Day 3 of the Yamaha VR46 Master Camp, Unai Orradre (aged 17, from Spain), Bahattin Sofuoglu (aged 18, from Turkey), Humberto "Turquinho" Maier (aged 15, from Brazil), Fenton Harrison Seabright (aged 19, from the UK), and Iker Garcia Abella (aged 17, from Spain) were rewarded with a day of fun.

Day 4 started off with a quick workout session, led by their trainer Carlo Casabianca and VR46 Academy rider Andrea Migno. The group split into two: one half went on to participate in a Pilates class while the other half went to Campo Scuola for a run. Halfway through the gym session, the groups swapped places.

In the clear sunshine the riders were then asked to hop in the van to attend a special outing. The Yamaha VR46 Master Camp was granted a personal invitation by the Joe Amarena beach owners to use their facilities and waters. This allowed the programme to organise a personal watercraft (PWC) activity in collaboration with Yamaha Marine Europe and Yamaha Marine Italy, as well as the local authorities and coastal guard, who gave the Master Camp special permission to run this event. The students would be sharing three 2021 Yamaha EX Limited WaveRunners for the entire afternoon, with Flat Track expert Marco Belli joining in on the fun.

Instructor of the day Alessandro Marcianò is a legendary Italian surfer who is also incredibly skilled in steering personal watercrafts. He had the students up and running in no time, in perfect control of their WaveRunners.

"I'm happy, especially because these guys are young and fun", said Marcianò after his final run. "Being here in August with Yamaha Marine and the Yamaha VR46 Master Camp is a first. The Master Camp 2021 drew quite a crowd, the beach was full of people coming to see what was going on. It was also superwarm, and the sea was superflat, but there was some chop to make it interesting, because they had to learn to control the WaveRunner in those conditions. The balance and position of the body is really important, and it was also really nice to teach these guys how to turn, wide and sharp, and be superfast.

"We started slowly in a line and worked our way up. Then I asked the guys to follow me to the 'circuit', consisting of four buoys layed out in a square in the water. They went faster and faster, and at the end they went superfast. I think they are great! They never operated a WaveRunner, but they already have really good technique that they picked up from racing. The difference with the WaveRunner is that you use the throttle to turn. They don't have brakes, so turning by using the throttle is a matter of timing. You have to think ahead, and you can also turn with full throttle, which is the right technique to go faster. These guys understood it immediately. If they would practise it a couple more times, they would probably all be really good 'WaveRunner riders'.

UNAI ORRADRE
I had practised Pilates before, but very little. I have now realised that it is a very important part. It helps the body recover, since we've had a very, very intense week of training. From now on, I will start to practise this technique more.
I liked the Yamaha Marine event a lot. I think it is one of the most fun activities we've had these days. It is also very similar in speed to a motorbike. It is very fun. Personally, I didn't find it very difficult to control the WaveRunner, but it's not completely easy either. You must have the balance and the perfect throttle control to be able to run it well. The same goes for the Yamaha Inflatable Stand Up Paddleboards. That has also been a very positive activity, especially because it focuses on similar skills: balance and concentration. I have enjoyed everything a lot, but I'd have to say that the WaveRunners were my favourite, because for me it has been a very fun and a very positive part of the day.

BAHATTIN SOFUOGLU
Day 4 was the first time that I tried to do Pilates and it relaxed my body. The exercises help a lot after the full-on training we had thus far and helped me get ready for a fun day at the beach. I think it would be useful to start doing Pilates after a long riding day and workout sessions.
The WaveRunner event was perfect! I enjoyed it a lot and spent almost too much time aboard it. It's not easy when you're going at a high speed to control the WaveRunner when the water is choppy, but it was still fun to handle that power. It was for sure the WaveRunner's full speed that I enjoyed the most. That and riding with our coach was incredible! I also liked the Yamaha Inflatable Stand Up Paddleboards. You need good balance to use it. I was able to do it and enjoy it.

I actually did Pilates before, and it was very helpful after the long day full of fun but straining training activities. Especially Day 3 was quite hard on the body, so Pilates helped me recover a bit. I will definitely keep doing it.
The Yamaha Marine event was amazing! I had so much fun! It was a wonderful day, with lots of sun and speed on the water. It was fun and also a good challenge at the same time. It's like riding a motorcycle on water, and it was great to learn from our coach, Alessandro. I preferred the WaveRunners to the Yamaha Inflatable Stand Up Paddleboards though. But the Paddleboards are funny. I fell off so often!

The workout session on Day 4 was my first time doing Pilates. It was a great workout and exercise for my core strength. The workout session overall was great, especially stretching my muscles after a heavy day of training like Day 3. I would like to add Pilates to my usual training schedule, as it was a great full body workout.

The WaveRunners were great! The session was very heavy on the arms and a good training to improve throttle control, and at the same time it was enjoyable. The WaveRunners are hard to get your head around at first, but once you get the throttle control it was a lot easier. It was a great bit of fun on the Yamaha Inflatable Stand Up Paddleboard, especially when being dragged by the WaveRunner. My favourite part today would have to be the WaveRunner though, as it was so much fun and it was great to have some races on them.

I really enjoyed the Yamaha Marine event with the WaveRunners. It was so much fun! But it was also difficult at the start. It's not that bad when you are the one sitting in the front, in control. If you're the passenger, it's more difficult to stay aboard. But, really, the WaveRunner was incredible! It was also really nice to have some fun on the beach with the Yamaha Inflatable Stand Up Paddleboard. I could play with my friends at the beach.
